The Fur and Freedom warriors were making their way back to Noonvale, victorious, but tired and worn-out. Martin was happy: they hadn't lost that many creatures, yet every single vermin had been slain. Ballaw was crawling along the ground. "Fodder, please, I'm about to die'n'disappear inta the blinkin' ground, doncha know? A chap needs to keep his bally energy up, wot wot!"
Martin couldn't help smiling at the overreacting hare. "Oh, don't worry, Ballaw, we'll get there soon, and I'm sure the creatures in Noonvale are preparing a big feast for us returning warriors, so hang in there!"
Ballaw was about to reply when Rose came running out of the forest. "You're here! Did you slay them all? How many are left? Oh, I wish I could've gone!"
Martin calmed her down, and said, "They're dead, Rose, every one of them gone to Hellgates. Rose, I'm glad you didn't come. It was a fierce battle, and who knows what could've happened there. I wouldn't even want to think about it."
Rose smiled and tapped Martin's sword. "I can take care of myself, Martin. I see you've gotten your father's sword back."
Martin smiled a little. "Yes, my quest is complete. There are no more vermin in the land, no more slaves, and no more Marshank or Badrang!" The fighters cheered.
"Come, Martin, we have a big feast for you all, and if you don't hurry, there isn't going to be any left!"
Ballaw perked up at these words and sprang up. "Jolly nice mouse, she is. See y'there, warriors!"
Ballaw took off in a sprint making him look like a brown streak of lightning.
